Bio

Pierce Haley graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) in May 2015. While attending KCAI, he was instructed by professors Paul Donnelly, Cary Esser, George Timock, and Casey Whitter. Pierce’s work was primarily designed for residential interiors with a functional aesthetic, featuring items such as cups, bowls, plates, and even wall tiles. While studying at KCAI, he refined his ceramic skills and refined his design aesthetic. After relocating back to Kansas City from California in 2016, Pierce worked at Crane Yard Clay as a sales associate while teaching ceramics at the Crane Yard studio.  He was an artist in residence from 2018 to 2019.

Pierce graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2024 with his MFA in ceramics, studying under Pattie Chalmers. His work has evolved to focus on the digital craft, utilizing plastic, mold making, and slipcasting, to make large installations, concentrating on patterns and repetition.
